Class Descriptions

Hatha Flow Yoga

In this class Hatha postures are sequenced to allow fluid movement from one asana to the next.  It will include balancing postures to improve the health of the nervous system, spine strengthening postures and deep nourishing stretches on the floor.  Modified versions of postures are offered, making this class suitable for beginners. More challenging options are also offered for more advanced students. Each class ends with a relaxation.

Lunch Time Yoga Class

This Hatha Flow style yoga class is designed to restore, revitalize and energize you on your lunch break. Come to this 45 minute class to stretch, strengthen and refocus your mind and leave the class feeling refreshed and balanced!  Modified versions of postures are offered, making this class suitable for beginners. More challenging options are also offered for more advanced students. Each class ends with a relaxation.

Gentle Hatha Flow Yoga with Tibetan Singing Bowl Meditation

This class is designed to help release tension and promote relaxation. It is an excellent class to learn techniques to calm the mind and move the body for both gentle exercise and joint health. Together we explore different breathing techniques and learn postures that are restorative and healing. We make use of various yoga props such as bolsters, foam blocks and straps in order to increase the benefits of certain poses. Each class ends with a Tibetan Singing Bowl meditation.

Yin Yang Yoga

This class begins with a Yang practice (Hatha Flow) to energize and strengthen  and invigorate the muscles of the body.  It is then  followed by a slow and deep practice (Yin postures) with a series of floor postures held passively for several minutes.  By holding Yin postures  we  access a safe and positive ‘stress’ on the deep layers of connective tissue in the body. This allows us to stretch the connective tissue in the hips, thighs and lower spine and quiet the mind.   Physically, Yin Yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily between the navel and the knees.  Energetically, Yin Yoga opens the body’s meridian system, which enhances the body’s energetic flow and supports emotional equilibrium. Yin emphasizes stillness and silence, and prepares both the body and the mind for a deeper experience in meditation.  A Yin/Yang yoga class provides the benefits of a perfectly balanced practice.

Restorative Yoga

This Class is suitable for anyone who would like to move and relax, but is also available to many people who are healing injuries, dealing with chronic pain/or injuries or who have mobility issues  to help release tension and promote relaxation and calm the mind. The class begins by exploring  different breathing techniques and continues with postures that are restorative and healing. We make use of various yoga props such as bolsters, foam blocks and straps in order to increase the benefits of certain poses. Each class ends with a relaxation that often includes the Tibetan Singing Bowls.

Yin Yoga Class

The practice of yin yoga provides the perfect balance to your active (yang) yoga practices and your busy life.  Focusing on long-held floor poses combined with breath work and meditation, yin yoga goes beneath the superficial muscles to target the dense connective tissues of the body – often in the hips, pelvis, and low back – which are difficult to open and can result in both limited flexibility and stagnant energy.  This deep practice is gentle, yet intense, helping students not only to open the body, but also to cultivate the ability to observe and stay with sensation.  This class is appropriate for all levels and ends with a relaxation.

Are you interested in private classes?

We can do private (Individual or Group) Yoga, Pilates, Yogilates, or Tibetan Singing Bowl Meditation classes to suit any level of student.  We will custom design the class to meet the needs of your family friends,  employees, staff, or residents. We welcome all shapes, sizes , and ages of students, regardless of fitness or flexibility level.

We offer a safe and detailed approach to all postures with special attention paid to any physical, mental or emotional you might wish to focus on.

Private Pilates Classes

Pilates is a combination of breath and core exercise that can enhance your overall core strength dramatically. The fundamentals and key exercises of a Pilates practice engage the deep, internal muscles of the abdomen and back. When these core muscles are strong and doing their job, as they are trained to do in Pilates, they work in tandem with the more superficial muscles of the trunk to support the the spine in day to day movement – keeping us more resistant to back and neck injury and lengthening, toning and shaping the mid section of the body. With a regular Pilates practice you will develop your core strength and stability throughout your entire torso.  As the trunk is properly stabilized, pressure on the back is relieved and the body is able to move freely and efficiently through all types of movement.  Sounds good doesn’t it?

Private Individual Yoga Class

A personalized 75 minute session will be designed to meet your specific needs and goals. Whether it is a focus of body, mind or spirit we will incorporate yoga poses/asanas, breath work and meditation. More hands-on adjustments, direction, information and modifications will be given to meet your personal needs. This class can be here in our Studio, or on site at a location of your choice.  All mats, props and music will be provided by us!

Private Group Yoga Class

A personalized 75 minute session will be designed to meet you and your friend’s, family’s, or co-workers or employees specific needs and goals. Whether it is a focus of body, mind or spirit we will incorporate yoga poses/asanas, breath work and meditation. More hands-on adjustments, direction, information and modifications will be given to meet the group’sl needs. This class can be here in our Studio, or on site at a location of your choice.  All mats, props and music will be provided by us!

Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga Class- NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING PLEASE CONTACT STUDIO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED

This class is designed especially for the pregnant  body and includes a unique series of yoga postures and strengthening exercises specifically designed to increase your energy, stamina and sense of well-being. This class will assist in developing flexibility where needed and help to cultivate concentration and breathing necessary to help you with a successful labour and delivery. A special emphasis is placed on releasing tension in the hips, sacrum and shoulders and legs. This class is suitable for all levels, including prenatal beginners. Modifications are offered for each trimester/or for postnatal to make this program appropriate for women at any stage of pregnancy. There are no poses lying on belly or back.  Each class ends with a relaxation. ***Note***We would appreciate a phone call if this is your first prenatal class at our studio. There are several important forms you will need to fill out Pre-class that we would like to briefly discuss with you for your safety.
